Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television presenter in the US as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond locks and a lively persona, shows how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top restaurants in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced the most fun time of my life. I could not learn or do enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell resided in Italy for a year, attending classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) located in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children who are facing challenges. She is also an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she promotes juvenile diabetes awareness. Burrell is often a guest presenter at conferences, and she travels the country as part of her mentorship role. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
